Kaulana Akina, but some may know him by his first name, Dustin, began working here at Gila River Health Care in March 2017 and he’s loving his job. He graduated from BYU-H in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science. After working various jobs for a few years, he discovered that Physical Therapy was his passion so he enrolled A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ where he earned a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. He has really enjoyed working with the Native American Community, who remind him of his Hawaiian culture with strong sense of family and community, always willing to share, give, and teach, and all around caring for each other.
