According to the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA); TEMS is now a standard of care for law enforcement special operations.
Modern TEMS got its start with CONTOMS and the CCRC.
The Casualty Care Research Center (CCRC) was founded in 1989 as a center within the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine at the Uniformed Services University (USU). Its mission is to serve as a unique national resource in the delivery of “good medicine in bad places.” The CCRC is recognized as one of the leaders in tactical emergency medicine by many medical governing bodies at the local, state and federal levels. The CCRC has accrued a proven worldwide track record in tactical medicine because of its integrated curriculum in training, operational support, research and specialized expertise.
